30 tips for a low budget wedding

Marriage is a unique day in the life, just like your spouse's original proposal. Thus, we are particularly keen that this unique ceremony takes place in our dreams. Unfortunately, whether you're planning a quirky or more classic wedding, it all comes at a cost. If you can not afford to spend lavishly on your big day, follow these different tips that will help you prepare for a celebration just as successful, with a cheap wedding decoration for example, as if you had had a higher budget.

1. Eliminate the superfluous. Take every element of your big day and ask yourself the question each time: do I really care, would I miss it?

2. Call on your loved ones. To avoid additional costs, ask your friends to help you with the preparations.

3. Plan ahead. To save, be organized. By reserving certain services in advance or shopping months in advance, you will have more choice and time to find good deals!

4. Minimize the guest list. Better to invite fewer people and better receive them then to try to invite too many people and be overwhelmed.

5. Get married out of season. By avoiding spring and summer, and particularly May and September, you will be able to obtain services at a better price.

6. Avoid getting married on a Saturday, it is the most popular day.

7. Take advantage of a family home for an intimate wedding. Invite your loved ones to your home, a relative's, or a friend's house, and organize a very personal celebration.

8. Go to wedding fairs. Companies very often carry out discounts and promotional offers.

9.  Write your wedding invitations by hand. This step certainly takes time, but your guests will be touched to receive a homemade invitation card.

10. Send your wedding invitations by email to keep costs down even further.

11. Plan one gift per couple rather than one gift per guest.

12.  Make your own gifts for your guests.  They will be even more affected and this will allow you to personalize them for  original wedding gifts.

13. Add your wedding thank you speech  to the small gift on D-Day to avoid having to send it.

14. Get started in DIY. Making your own wedding decorations is a good way to save money but also to personalize your event as much as possible.

15. Visit flea markets and garage sales. Nothing like collecting old objects to lower your budget. Do not hesitate to take advantage of the wonders of your attic for an inexpensive wedding decoration.

16. Go for green plants. They are more economical than flowers and just as elegant.

17.  Use natural elements for your decoration, such as dead leaves to collect during a walk in the forest.

18. If you value flowers, choose them in season. They will cost you less than exotic varieties from elsewhere.

19. Collect yogurt pots and other everyday objects to change them into the candle holders and decorative items of all kinds.

20. Reduce the amount of food. Guests often say overeating during a wedding. Focus on the essentials and do it qualitative rather than quantitative.

21. Choose fresh, local, and seasonal foods. Avoid red fruits and exotic flavors.

22. Choose a sparkling wine and thus save champagne.

23. Limit alcohol in abundance. A sangria as an aperitif and wine and beer at the table will be more than enough.

24. Set up a few large tables rather than many small ones. This will divide the price of centerpieces, tablecloths, and other wedding table decorations.

25. Choose the same musician or DJ for the ceremony and the evening.

26. Take advantage of the end of season sales. Keep an eye out for promotions from your favorite wedding dress stores.

27. Rent your wedding dress rather than buying it.

28. If you don't feel like wearing too much makeup, you can do your wedding make-up  lone or with the help of a friend by carrying out several tests beforehand.

29. Wear family jewelry. Instead of buying new, go for accessories with a real story.

30. Wait to print all of your photos. Ask to receive them on a CD rather than on paper. Once your finances are in good shape, you can print your favorite photos.

It doesn't take much to make a beautiful wedding decoration without spending a thousand dollars. With all these savings, you might be able to go on your honeymoon to a heavenly destination. If you are still missing a few euros, do not hesitate to place an original wedding urn on a table so that your guests can participate in this beautiful project.
