Coronavirus: is it possible to go on a honeymoon?
They have spent months, if not years, preparing their dream trip, the most special of their lives: the honeymoon. Given the circumstances of the new coronavirus, movements both within the country and abroad have been affected, as it has been necessary to close the borders in Pakistan for security and prevention. For this reason, they must be informed about the progress and new measures adopted by the Government.
When do they travel?
If you are thinking of making a
destination marriage or have your honeymoon in Pakistan scheduled in the coming
months, there are several aspects that you should take into account so that you
can set dates and prepare everything in a timely manner. In conjunction with
the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Commerce, Civil Aeronautics, airlines
and municipalities, the necessary measures were established for the complete
reactivation of air after months of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic 1.
Currently, the Government has initiated different phases of gradual
reactivation in the international operation of commercial flights.
Where do they travel?
Keep in mind that the requirement
is demanded by the country of your honeymoon destination in which you can
request a quarantine, PCR test, or otherwise. If it is someone who must enter Pakistan,
it is mandatory to present the PCR test with a negative result. International
flights are initially opening from Pakistan to the United States, Mexico,
Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Guatemala, destinations
with which this gradual opening in the country begins.
Stay informed about the measures
that will be taken in the coming weeks through the Ministry of Health and
Social Protection and the Ministry of Transportation of Pakistan on new
openings of airports and destinations.
For trips outside of Pakistan.
If you are thinking of having
your honeymoon or marriage outdoors outside the country, you should consider
the following:
• Only
trips allowed to 7 countries: as of September 21, international flights in the
country was reactivated, with a gradual opening that links Pakistan with the
United States, Ecuador, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and
Guatemala.
• Biosafety
protocols for international flights: The National Government of Pakistan issued
Resolution 1627 of September 15, 2020, through which biosafety protocols for
international flights are dictated, among which the following stand out:
1. Comply with general biosecurity protocols: mandatory use of a
mask, handwashing at least every 3 hours, foot disinfection and temperature
measurement, prior to entering the airport. In addition, the consumption of
food and beverages are prohibited in immigration and emigration areas. When it
is a long flight, passengers must wear several masks to change.
2. Consider arrival times: travelers must arrive at the airport
at least 3 hours before the scheduled flight time.
3. Install Corona: airports and airlines are asking their
travelers to have the Corona mobile application installed and have the data
updated through this tool, before traveling. Also, complete the travel survey
before each journey. Here you can download the mobile application.
4. PCR test: it is essential to present at the airport the result
of a PCR test with a negative result and issued no later than 96 hours before
boarding. Passengers with fever or respiratory symptoms associated with
COVID-19 will not be allowed to board.
Protocols to fly again
In Resolution 1517 of 2020, the
provisions and general guidelines for managing the risk of COVID-19 in the
airport and aeronautical sectors are dictated, mainly in the national
territory. Of this it is key that they take into account the following:
• Antigen
test for some destinations: In the case of a trip to departments with a
COVID-19 contagion rate of less than 1,000 per 100,000 inhabitants, and whose main access route is by air, people over 7 years of age will be asked to
present the result of the antigen test for detection of COVID-19 before
boarding. The result must be negative, and the date of issue cannot exceed 48
hours prior to boarding. Here you can check the impact by municipalities and
verify which ones meet this condition.
• Install
Corona App: airports and airlines are asking their travelers to have the Corona
App mobile application installed and have the data updated through this tool,
before traveling. Also, complete the travel survey before each journey.
• Comply
with general biosecurity protocols: mandatory use of a mask, handwashing at
least every 3 hours, foot disinfection and temperature measurement, prior to
entering the airport.
• Carry
only one personal item in the cabin: As a preventive measure, cabin luggage is
restricted to only one personal item (purse or small purse) that can be tucked
under the airplane seat. The rest must be sent by the warehouse.
• Carry
out web check-in and take a digital boarding pass: another of the
recommendations of the Ministry of Health is to check-in virtually, and carry
it on your mobile device, to avoid and reduce physical contact with other
people. The information will be found in Pakistan.
• Comply
with arrival times before the flight: for domestic flights, it is essential to
arrive at the air terminal at least two hours before the scheduled flight time.
